[AUTOGRAPHES] Jean BONAL (PARIS, 1925 - BOUFFéMONT, 2004), JAZZ GUITARIST - Autograph letter signed to Monsieur Darlier. Ermont (France), May 2, 1967. 1 page in-4 on lined paper. Perforated, slightly soiled. Bonal remembers Darlier and asks if it would be possible for him to take part in a radio program with Benoît Quersin, so that he can talk about the jazz record he has recorded. On the letter, in the top left-hand corner, the words "Voir Mme Danval" have been written. Jean Bonal, who did not disdain variety music (he accompanied André Livernaux's orchestra), was a world-renowned jazz guitarist. He was awarded the Grand Prix de l'Académie du jazz, and worked with the likes of Michel Legrand, Don Byas and Sidney Bechet. Clouzot commissioned him to write the music for his film "La Vérité". Ref. Serge Loupien, Libération, October 23, 2004. Benoît Quersin, (Brussels, 1927 - Vaison-la-Romaine, France, 1992) early pianist, bassist and radio man; also famous for opening the Blue-Note jazz club in Brussels.
