Smerk and E.L.T. Mesens participated in his training. He practises collage in the manner of the surrealists. His non-figurative painting is conceived in a purist way, with excessive rigour. He subjects his paintings to a mathematical construction process, and chooses his colours objectively by additive or subtractive processes. "Note by M. Minne, Dictionary of Belgian Painters.
