SURREALISM, EVEN. 1 [- 5]. Quarterly review. Director: André BRETON. Paris, October 1956 - Spring 1956. 5 issues bound in 1 volume in-8 square, black rexine, initials "L. v. D." on the tail, first plates preserved, only the second plate of the 5th issue has been kept (amateur binding, margins trimmed very short). The 2 issues "Les Détraqués" by P.-L. Palau and "Le Royaume de la Terre. Scénario inédit par Abel Gance et Nelly Kaplan" were well bound in the n° 1 & 2. The 5th issue is justified. Lavishly illustrated publication that continues the surrealist traditions and political stances. Many new collaborators, writers, poets, illustrators, who were new "adherents" to surrealism, contributed to the movement's investigation of new mediums such as cinema, comics and popular song. Flora Tristan, Man Ray, Joyce, Mansour, Duchamp, etc. participated.
