[JAPAN] "B 1002 Playing on Samisen, yokin and kokin." [Ca 1890]. +/- 20 x 25.5 cm. Hand-colored albumen print depicting 3 geishas playing traditional Japanese musical instruments. Placed under a bamboo inlay frame, "yosegi-zaiku" type. Small lack of marquetry (2 cm). JOINTS: - Attributed to Adolfo FARSARI - Japanese woman spinning cotton with a spinning wheel. 210 x 262 mm. Hand-colored albumen print. (2 lines on her headdress). - 8 Japanese landscapes, hand-coloured albumen prints. 90 x 135 mm. Some faded. - 3 b/w photographs of Japanese women working with silk: "612 Moths laying eggs", "613 Eggs hatching" and "623 Reeling raw silk". Late removals. - Set of 14 individual and group portraits. [Early 20th century]. Various sizes, most in original small brown or grey paper portfolio. Among the photographers, 1 plate from Nonomiya Kudan Studio (Tokyo) (founded by Nojima Yasuzo), 1 plate from Nakajima, 1 plate from Yegi-Honten Studio (Tokyo). 1 plate rubbed. - 1 empty frame in bamboo marquetry.
