[BRUSSELS] Michel POLAK - General plans of the Residence Palace, rue de la Loi in Brussels. Scale 1:200. Brussels, March 25, 1924. Architect's blueprints, broadsheet, 125 x 91 cm, 8 sheets assembled at the head by metal eyelets, stamps. Qqs marginal tears without loss. Complete set of plans for this superb building designed by Swiss architect Michel Polak and inaugurated in 1927. Initially designed as an apartment building, it was bought by the Belgian State in 1947 and transformed into offices. In 1988, the right wing was demolished to make way for the Justus Lipsius building of the Council of the European Union. Another part was integrated into the Europa building. Originally, the residential complex had four wings and 180 bourgeois apartments, as well as numerous services: a 516-seat theater, Turkish baths, fencing rooms, rooftop tennis courts and a swimming pool.
