THE WORD. N° 1 [-20]. Paris, 28/11/1914 - 1/7/1915. Large in-4, stapled. In a conservation portfolio. Browning, small marginal tears, otherwise well preserved. Complete collection of this weekly satirical anti-German and anti-militarist magazine, directed and illustrated by Paul Iribe, who signs most of the "unes", with the collaboration of Jean Cocteau, who signs with his name the rare signed texts. The issues are illustrated with superb drawings in black or two-tone in the text, on full page or on double pages essentially by "Jim", Cocteau's pseudonym (author in particular of the series of "Atrocités"), but also by Sem, Raoul Dufy, Léon Bakst, Albert Gleizes and André Lhote. Ex. of the current edition. The number 1 carries the (false?) mention of "Second edition". Some issues have kept the subscription form on various colored papers.
