Filippo BONANNI - Ordinum equestrium et militarium catalogus in imaginibus expositus & cum brevi narratione oblatus Clementi XI. Pontifico Maximo... = Catalogo degli Ordini equestri e militari... Rome, Giorgio Placco, 1711. In-4, 240 x 170 mm, contemporary calf, large cold-stamped frame of intersecting fillets and roulette repeated on the boards, four-ribbed spine decorated with gilt small irons, black leather title label (renewed), red speckled edges. (Some rubbing, gilt faded on the tail box, dull corners). The illustration includes 164 numbered plates engraved on copperplate by G.B. Sintes after A. Horazi, i.e. 141 plates of costumes (num. 1-141) each accompanied by a bilingual explanatory note (1 f. impr. on two col.) and 23 plates of decorations (crosses, collars, etc.) without note (num. 142-164). Provenance: Judocus Josephus Haelterman, Ninove (4 handwritten entries, two of which are redacted and one scratched on the Latin title); Jesuit College of Tournai (handwritten entry on the flyleaf, cancelled stamp on the upper guard and on the Italian title, cancelled label on the verso of the Latin title); Province de Belgique méridionale (stamp on the Italian title); modern armorial bookplate.
