[Gérónimo de NAVA ]- 6 documents relating to the count Gerónimo de Nava, Spanish officer, a.o. lieutenant general, commander of the Austrian part of Hainaut and governor of Charleroi. XVIIIth c. CONTIENT: - CHARLES VI (1685-1740), emperor of the Holy Roman Empire: Letters patent conferring the title of count to G. de Nava. Vienna, March 6, 1720. in-4° (28 x 19 cm), [11] pp. on vellum, in Spanish, pen and brown ink gilt, text framed with fillets, sign. "Io el Rey", qqs countersigns, wet stamp at head and large red wax seal affixed under zinc case. A few stains especially on the margins, otherwise very well preserved, seal complete and in good condition. - EUGÈNE de SAVOIE (1663-1736), prince: 2 letters patent of nomination of G. de Nava: 1) to the rank of lieutenant-colonel of the regiment of the marquis of Los Rios, 2) to the position of captain of the infantry of the said regiment. Vienna, 18 February and 6 June 1718. 2 ff. in-foots (40 x 32 cm), on paper, in Spanish, pen and brown ink, autogr. "Eugenio de Savoya", counters. of commander Antonio Navarro, seal under paper. Small tears and holes without losses at folds, 1 seal missing. - Council of State of the Netherlands: Letter patent of appointment of G. de Nava to the rank of sergeant-major in the Spanish infantry regiment. Brussels, November 4, 1713. 30 x 55 cm, on vellum, in French, pen and brown ink, sign. H. van Leys (?) "en l'absence de l'audiencier", suscriptions on verso. - Maurice de Saxe (1696-1750), Marshal of France: Pass for a trumpeter of the allied army sent back to Namur with dispatches for the Count of Nava. At the camp of Villers, August 25, 1746. In-f°, printed on the letterhead of the kingdom of France and coat of arms of the duke, compl. by hand, autogr. "M. de Saxe", counters. "de Montain". Small tears without loss at folds. - Envelope (empty) addressed to Count de Nava, "colonel commanding the reg.t of Los Rios" in Mons. Some soiling, wax seal broken but complete.
