RELIGIOUS PICTURE: SAINT ELISABETH OF HUNGARY giving alms.
18th c. Watercolor and embroidery on silk on both sides, oval 15 x 11,3 cm on laid paper. Under glass and gilded wood frame. A few small stains without gravity, pale freckles very marginal; not unframed, small crack to 1 pane, small chips in the gilding at the bottom of the frame, otherwise complete.
Double image finely drawn and beautifully inlaid with multi-colored silk covering the saint's vestments, attributes and golden hair, the beggar's vestments and bonnet, and the border surrounding the whole. The two sides are identical but reversed from each other.
