[DRAWING] Traveler's rest house on the outskirts of a village.
18th c. Sanguine, Indian ink, gray wash and white chalk highlights on laid paper, 250 x 365 mm. Traces of backing board and stamp on verso.
Charming and lively scene: two men are being served by a woman who pours them wine while a groom leads a horse to the stable. A farmer leads a cow and a herd of sheep, followed by a cart pulled by two horses. In the background are a few roofs and a church steeple.
