Marc DANVAL - Typed letter signed concerning a letter to Pierre Arty. Brussels, October 21, 1970. 1 page in-4 + 2 ff. in-4 mimeographed. On the letterhead of Promo-Press, Marc Danval's public relations company. Danval addresses his colleagues, forwarding a copy of a letter addressed to Pierre Arty, managing director of Exploration du monde and the Association des arts et de la culture (ADAC) at the Palais des beaux-arts in Brussels. Danval mentions a major jazz event to be held on November 1, 2 and 3, 1970, for which "ten days before the first concert, not a single jazz fan (underlined) has been personally affected". Danval complains bitterly to Arty about the poor organization of Jazz concerts at Les Beaux-Arts: "failure of the Stan Getz concert (appalling acoustics), half a hall for the Clark Boland concert (scandalous lack of promotion)..." In connection with the twinning of Avenue Louise in Brussels with 5th Avenue in New York, the writer (signature unidentified) suggests that Marc Danval take care of an exhibition on jazz music from New York to Brussels, as part of the festivities. The letter was written on the back of a photocopy of an article on Jean Daskalidès, founder of Leonidas pralines, who was also a jazz musician in "The Blue Swingers" orchestra during his studies.
