[FLUXUS] Robert FILLIOU - Idiot-ci, idiot-là. French transla - Lot 432
[FLUXUS] Robert FILLIOU - Idiot-ci, idiot-là. French translation and adaptation of Ample food for stupid thought by François Jacqmin and Richard Tialans. Liège, AA éditions - Yellow now, [1977]. 91 postcards. 10 x 14 cm. In dust jacket. Belgian edition of the famous Fluxus book-object by Robert Filliou, a major figure in the conceptual and poetic art of the 1960s-70s. Originally published in New York in 1965 (Something Else Press), Ample food for stupid thought is presented as a game of absurd and metaphysical thoughts: aphorisms-questions mixing humor, nonsense and meditation on language. The French version, translated and adapted by Liège poets François Jacqmin and Richard Tialans, retains the spirit of irony and simplicity of the original, while adding a tone specific to Belgian experimental poetry. This rare collection is emblematic of the French-speaking branch of the Fluxus movement, where concrete poetry, performance and the book-object meet.
